Negotiating With Insurance Companies
This is key to the majority of cases. This is where my experience can make a big difference for you, and the amount of the recovery we achieve on your case. With over 25 years settling cases involving insurance companies and nine years working as in-house counsel for two different insurers, I know how to peacefully negotiate a fair resolution of your claim or lawsuit, based on medical documentation and the law applicable to your case. Everyone fears the unknown – even attorneys. If your lawyer doesn’t understand how insurance companies work, the he or she may be likely to take an overly adversarial approach. On the other hand, many attorneys can under-evaluate a case – and the client’s results will suffer.
But I understand the insurance industry. Claims representatives do require a certain documentation in their files to allow them to justify proper compensation. I can provide that to them. I know what they need.
My "civil" approach has yielded outstanding results: I am a Life Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Why Trials Are a Bad Idea (80 Percent of the Time)
75 to 98 percent of all personal injury claims settle out of court, without trial. Of those that go to trial, 80 percent of all injured plaintiffs either receive less than what the insurance company originally offered, or they receive no compensation at all. If you're already out of work, you don't want to gamble with those odds. Sometimes, due to irreconcilable views of a claim, a trial really is absolutely necessary—but usually a trial is forced by an insurance company’s irrational interpretation of the facts, or the law, or both.
In my practice, I feel that if a case goes to trial, I have failed the client. I always try to negotiate a fair settlement first. I am a court-appointed arbitrator and mediator with the skills to successfully and consistently negotiate fair, reasonable settlements. It is my job to properly document your case for the insurance company, to minimize any possibilities of irrational misunderstandings on their part.
To schedule a free consultation, call 908-264-2017 or just contact my office online. I will charge you no attorney's fees unless I recover a settlement for you.
*Note: Always bear in mind: results vary from case to case, depending on injuries sustained and the law applicable to your case.
